Instant Pot Jalapeño BBQ Chicken Wings
Hi friends! The Big Game is right around the corner and in my house that means WINGS! Well, I’ll be honest, my family always loves a good batch of chicken wings. And when I learned how to make them in the Instant Pot, well that was just a game changer! There can be a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of a pressure cooker, they really can make cooking a breeze! Especially when you’re trying to make flavorful meats. So let’s chat about how we made these spicy-sweet chicken wings perfect for game day or really any day you’re craving good wings!
BBQ Chicken Wings Ingredients
- BBQ sauce
- Brown sugar
- Worcestershire sauce
- Minced garlic
- Water
- Chicken wings, thawed
- Honey
- Jalapeño jelly
How to Make Instant Pot Chicken Wings
Add 3 tablespoons of Canola oil and turn your Instant Pot to sauté. Season your wings with a little salt and pepper and chicken to the pot in one layer.
Sauté the wings, turning every 3-4 minutes. Once you see a light golden brown in color remove from the Instant Pot and hit cancel. (You do NOT want them fully cooked. We are just adding a crisp and crunchy texture to the chicken.)
In medium sized bowl add all the sauce ingredients. Stir to combine.
Now add the chicken and sauce to the Instant Pot.
Set the valve on top to seal. Set the pressure to High for 8 minutes. Once the time is up, quick release the value on top until all the pressure has released. Carefully remove the lid and place the cooked chicken wings on a pan lined with foil. Baste them with some more of the left over bbq sauce in the Instant Pot. Broil them in the oven on high for 5 minutes to allow the sauce to caramelize. Turn the wings over, baste and then broil for another 2 minutes.
