Hi A Night Owl readers! It’s Stacey from Glued To My Crafts again! I sure hope you are staying warm this winter and keeping the kids busy with TONS of creative crafts. If you are needing new ideas or inspiration to jump start the fun – have no fear because today I have another really easy kid craft to share with you all. This craft is titled Paper Plate Rainbow and it’s slowly becoming my favorite contributor post to date!

Not only is this Paper Plate Rainbow Kid Craft perfect for the upcoming St. Patty’s Day holiday BUT it’s also great to do to welcome spring into your home. And of course – this kid friendly tutorial is fun for all ages, really inexpensive and super simple too! With just some cotton balls, a paper plate, colorful cardstock and a ton of glue – you TOO can pull this easy rainbow craft together in no time.

So what are you waiting for? Find our step-by-step tutorial below, grab your supplies and let the colorful fun begin! Who knows – there might even be some gold at the end of the rainbow!

Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate {cut in half}
  • Cotton Balls
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • Various Colors of Cardstock

Directions:

  • If you haven’t already, cut your paper plate in half. Reserve one for this craft and save the other for another day.
  • Put a good amount of glue all over the paper plate half. Have your child place cotton balls on top of the glue, until it’s completely covered.
  • While your child is doing that, cut out strips from the cardstock to make the rays of the rainbow. I did a total of five strips, but you might need more/less depending on how thick you make each one.
  • To finish off the rainbow craft – staple on the strips to the paper plate and display proudly!
