Sonoran Stacked Tacos
Hi friends! Do you have those meals that remind you of your childhood? I think they taste even better because of the memories they bring back, don’t you? These Sonoran Stacked Tacos are one of those meals. My Mom used to make them for us and the recipe was passed down from her father. My Grandad was apparently the cook in the family and she always enjoyed this meal growing up too. Now it’s so fun to be able to share with my family!
Sonoran Stacked Taco Ingredients
If you have the ingredients for taco night, you’re well on your way!
- Corn (or flour) tortillas
- Refried beans
- Ground beef
- Enchilada sauce
- Lettuce
- Cheese
- Pico de gallo
How to Make Sonoran Stacked Tacos
These tacos are delicious and easy! First brown a pound of ground beef with your preferred seasoning (I like using seasoned salt, garlic salt and fresh ground pepper). Heat your can of refried beans either on the stovetop or in the microwave. Next, heat a can of enchilada sauce in a pan. Then simply soften a tortilla in the pan with enchilada sauce. Add a sauce covered tortilla to a plate, top with refried beans, ground beef, lettuce, cheese and pico de gallo.
Tools Used to make this Recipe:
- Frying Pan: I’m a big fan of GreenPan pans and this is a classic, affordable set!
- Ground Meat Chopper: I use this tool EVERY single time I cook ground beef. Easily breaks up ground beef for even cooking.
- Vegetable Chopper: If you like making homemade pico like I do, this veggie chopper makes easy work of prepping your ingredients!
