Disneyland Halloween Mickey Crispy Treats
Hi friends! Halloweentime at Disneyland is in full swing and because not all of us can visit consistently throughout the season, I figured out a way to bring the magic of Disney Main Street home during the Halloween season with these delicious and adorable Disneyland Halloween Mickey Crispy Treats!
We’re big fans of Disney food. In fact, over on our travel blog A Night Owl Travels, you’ll find checklists of our favorite treats from Disneyland to Walt Disney World and more. If you’re headed to the parks soon, be sure to check out our list of the Best Halloweentime Treats at Disneyland.
Now, back to the recipe at hand! You will typically find Halloween Mickey Crispy Treats at shops like Candy Palace off Main Street and Pooh’s Corner in Disneyland, Trolley Treats in California Adventure and Marceline’s Confectionery in Downtown Disney.
Recipe Ingredients
If you’re making these delectable Disney treats at home, here’s what you’re going to need:
- Rice crispy treats (either sheet you buy from the store or homemade)
- Orange candy melts
- Black candy melts
- Mickey cookie cutter
- Candy piping bag
- Popsicle sticks
How to Make Recipe
First you’re going to want to cut out your Mickey shaped treats from the sheet or homemade crispy treats using the cookie cutter.
Then melt the orange candy melts in a shallow plate, dip a popsicle stick into the candy melts and insert it into the bottom of the Mickey head. The candy melts will help hold the popsicle stick in place. Now place the Mickey shape down into the melted orange candy.
Turn the Mickey-shaped treat over and add more melted candy as needed (you can spoon on), smoothing the surface with another popsicle stick.
While the orange candy melts are setting up on the treat, melt the black candy melts in a piping bag. There are many candy piping bags that allow you to melt right in the microwave, but if you don’t have any of those on hand you can also melt the candy in a microwavable-safe bowl and transfer melted candy to a ziploc baggie. Once the black melted candy is in a bag, snip a corner and carefully draw spider web designs on the Mickey shaped treat.
Start with straight lines meeting in the center of the treat, then connect those lines with little sweeps to create a spider web effect.
And voila! Now you have a delicious and festive Halloweentime Rice Crispy treat you can enjoy right at home! Perfect for a Halloween-themed movie night on Disney+!
