Hi friends! Now that we’re into the new year that means it’s time to organize ALL THE THINGS, right?! We’re hitting things up room by room and today we’re talking about the kitchen. Now if you’ve seen my articles around BHG Live Better before, then you know I love using BHG products to wrangle my coffee and hot cocoa. And when I thought about what to share today I almost shared our day-to-day coffee station but since it’s so similar, I set out to tackle a bigger problem we’ve had recently – produce storage and organization!

Did you know that most of your produce shouldn’t hang out in your refrigerator? I’ve always known that for some items, but really besides your leafy greens, most of your fruits and veggies should hang out separated, well ventilated and at room temperature. But between all the produce, where do you keep it all? And who has that kind of counter space? I always end up with bowls of apples, oranges, onions and more. So much clutter – until now. I found this adorable Better Homes and Gardens 6-Drawer Wire Cart.

It’s just so cute! I love the lines of it – simple, lined wire baskets, caster wheels and label fronts that make organization a breeze. So for our produce kitchen organization project, I got to labeling each basket with produce we commonly keep. And I’m IN LOVE with it. Just think how easy it would be, heading home from the grocery store or farmer’s market to sort and store your valuable produce.

And I don’t know about you, but when my kitchen and food is clean and well organized I really do find that so much less goes to waste. And the cart is the perfect size for my little ones. Not only can they help me sort and put away the fruits and veggies, but they can grab a healthy snack as well! It’s amazing how often they’ll opt for wholesome snacks when they’re readily available.

Speaking of snacks, this cute little cart also has a great countertop perfect for holding or displaying more items! We added a couple of Glass Storage Jars on top filled with snacks – but this could be your baking items or more!

To say that we’re happy with our new Product Kitchen Organization is an understatement. It’s stylish, convenient and helps us better use our produce and eliminate waste from food that’s been improperly stored.
