{Thrifty Thursday} A Chalkboard Serving Tray

Home· Thrifty

Hi friends! Welcome to another installation of Thrifty Thursday! Once again I’ll be sharing with you a thrifty find that I have upcycled into something fun, and today it’s a chalkboard serving tray. I picked up this cute little silver tray from my local Goodwill a couple of months ago. It had quite a bit of wear, but at just…

{Thrifty Thursday} A Little Stand

Thrifty

Hi all! I hope that you’ve had a fantastic week so far…mine has primarily been spent recovering from my 3 year old’s birthday party on Sunday. So not much in the way of crafting, creating, or thrifting this week. However, I do want to share a local Goodwill find with you and try to gather some thoughts and feedback! I…

{Thrifty Thursday} Vintage Milk Glass Spring Vignette

Spring· Thrifty

Well like I did last week with my Easter Mantel, I’m going to again show you what I have done with my local Goodwill thrifty finds versus just showing you what I bought! Isn’t that more fun? I’m certainly having a little more fun with it! This week I’m sharing with you my vintage milk glass collection I’ve acquired over…

{Thrifty Thursday} An Easter Mantel

Easter· Mantel· Thrifty

This week I’m doing something a little different for Thrifty Thursday. Why? Because I just finished updating my mantel for Easter and I need to get it posted (Easter will be here and gone before you know it!), and also because some of the key pieces were “thrifted” from my local Goodwill! The main thrifted upcycle of this mantel are…

Masterful. Epic. Unforgettable. ⚔️ Thanks to our f Masterful. Epic. Unforgettable. ⚔️ Thanks to our friends at @universalpictures and @moviesmorefun, we had the opportunity to attend the press screening of The Odyssey.

Christopher Nolan delivers everything you would expect from a film of this scale—and somehow even more. The Odyssey is masterful, epic, dark, and gritty, taking audiences on Odysseus’ relentless and often unbelievable journey home with breathtaking cinematography, massive practical sets, and the kind of storytelling only Nolan can deliver.

Before seeing the film, I heard plenty of conversations about casting choices, but once the movie begins, none of that matters—the performances, scale, and craftsmanship completely take over. Sure, there are small things you could nitpick and some performances stand out more than others, but they never distract from what is ultimately one of the year’s most impressive cinematic achievements.

Parents, this one is rated R for violence and some language. There are a couple of brief moments of non-sexual nudity (just rear nudity), but nothing overtly sexual. The bigger thing to be aware of is the intense gore and violence, so keep that in mind for teens who may want to see it.

This is absolutely going to land in my top 5 films of the year. If you can, see it in IMAX—it deserves the biggest screen possible. Get your tickets, experience it for yourself, and see what all the hype is about.

Now all that’s left to do is crack open my copy of The Odyssey and get ready for the adventure ahead.

Have you read The Odyssey, or will this be your first trip to Ithaca? 🗺️

Fun fact: On 7/14/09 (yes, 17 years ago 😳), Andre Fun fact: On 7/14/09 (yes, 17 years ago 😳), Andre and I saw The Fray with Jack’s Mannequin.

Now we’re so excited to be seeing them again! They’ve always been one of my favorite bands, and what I love even more is that their music spans generations. When I told my niece we were going, her response was, “Can I come too?” In the spirit of joining in on the fun, we’re doing a glveaway!!

That’s right, our friends at @livenationphx and @arizonafinancialtheatre are sending one lucky winner and a friend to see The Fray on the Summer of Light Tour with Dashboard Confessional and Colony House on July 27!

Thanks to our friends at @disneystudios and @allie Thanks to our friends at @disneystudios and @alliedglobalmarketing for the opportunity to screen Moana early! 🌊

The live-action Moana stays remarkably faithful to the animated classic, and while that means fans will appreciate how closely it follows the original, it also makes the remake feel a bit unnecessary just ten years later.

Catherine Laga’aia is wonderful as Moana, and the breathtaking scenery and visuals beautifully bring the islands to life. As someone who considers the animated film one of Disney’s best, I appreciated that they didn’t try to reinvent the story.

If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly movie to enjoy together, this one definitely has my vote! Moana is in theaters now—grab the family and enjoy an adventure on the big screen! 🌺🎥

If you see one movie this weekend (sans kids), mak If you see one movie this weekend (sans kids), make it The Invite. 🥂 Thanks to our friends at @a24 and @alliedglobalmarketing, we had the opportunity to screen it early…and let me tell you, A24 has done it again.

The Invite is a wild, emotional ride that lingers long after the credits roll. Peeling back the curtain on marriage and adulthood, it explores the “what ifs” of our choices, the little things that quietly build over time, and whether they signal the end—or simply another chapter. Through one unconventional dinner invitation, every fear, frustration, and vulnerability is laid bare.

Awkward, emotional, funny, and completely unpredictable, The Invite somehow captures all the feels without ever losing its footing. This one is rated R for sexual material, language throughout, and drug use.

Skip the babysitter guilt just this once—grab your tickets and experience The Invite in theaters this weekend.
