{Thrifty Thursday} An IKEA Desk Makeover

Thrifty

I purchased an IKEA desk sometime ago and had visions of what I wanted it to look like dancing in my head. I decided on diagonal lines and wanted a pop of color. So on the black brown surface I thought that yellow would look good…it ended up looking like a construction traffic sign. Oops! Lesson learned. So I stripped…

{Thifty Thursday} A Fall Frame

Fall· Thrifty

A few months ago I posted about some of my weekly local Arizona Goodwill thrift findings. Among that group of items was a gold wooden frame I picked up for just $2.99! Back then I had thoughts of painting the frame and making it into a wreath; however, I’ve since had a change of heart. I actually really love the…

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Pumpkins

Crafts· Fall· Thanksgiving

I love all of the dollar store pumpkin makeovers I’ve been seeing across blogland! And today I have another one to add to the line-up: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Pumpkins! Have you heard of Annie Sloan? I’ve been wanting to use her chalk paint on many different projects for some time now, and I finally made a couple of trips…

{Project Home} DIY Dollar Store Fall Garland

Fall· Home

In the next installment of the great Fall update, I grabbed a bag of Fall leaves from my local Dollar Tree and decided to make a quick and easy Fall garland! I simply lined up the leaves, red and green alternating, used a small piece of tape to hold them together for the time being, and sewed a simple stitch…

Thanks to our friends at @disneystudios and @allie Thanks to our friends at @disneystudios and @alliedglobalmarketing for the opportunity to screen Moana early! 🌊

The live-action Moana stays remarkably faithful to the animated classic, and while that means fans will appreciate how closely it follows the original, it also makes the remake feel a bit unnecessary just ten years later.

Catherine Laga’aia is wonderful as Moana, and the breathtaking scenery and visuals beautifully bring the islands to life. As someone who considers the animated film one of Disney’s best, I appreciated that they didn’t try to reinvent the story—but because it’s so familiar, it never quite feels essential.

Still, if you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly movie to enjoy together, this one definitely has my vote! Moana is in theaters now—grab the family and enjoy an adventure on the big screen! 🌺🎥

If you see one movie this weekend (sans kids), mak If you see one movie this weekend (sans kids), make it The Invite. 🥂 Thanks to our friends at @a24 and @alliedglobalmarketing, we had the opportunity to screen it early…and let me tell you, A24 has done it again.

The Invite is a wild, emotional ride that lingers long after the credits roll. Peeling back the curtain on marriage and adulthood, it explores the “what ifs” of our choices, the little things that quietly build over time, and whether they signal the end—or simply another chapter. Through one unconventional dinner invitation, every fear, frustration, and vulnerability is laid bare.

Awkward, emotional, funny, and completely unpredictable, The Invite somehow captures all the feels without ever losing its footing. This one is rated R for sexual material, language throughout, and drug use.

Skip the babysitter guilt just this once—grab your tickets and experience The Invite in theaters this weekend.

Last week we had a devilishly good time at Devil’s Last week we had a devilishly good time at Devil’s Hideaway, where we feasted on complimentary BBQ, snapped some horror-worthy photos, scored exclusive swag, and enjoyed a few sinister surprises.

The event celebrated the upcoming release of EVIL DEAD BURN, the newest chapter in the iconic horror franchise. This time, after the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws—only for a family gathering to spiral into absolute nightmare fuel as Deadites take over.

If you’re an Evil Dead fan (or just love a good horror movie), this one looks like it’s bringing all the blood, chaos, and mayhem the franchise is known for. 🔥

EVIL DEAD BURN hits theaters July 10. Who’s adding this to their summer movie list? 👹🎬

Hollywood has a monster problem. 🐙 Thanks to our f Hollywood has a monster problem. 🐙 Thanks to our friends at @universalpictures, @illuminationent and @moviesmorefun, we had the opportunity to screen Minions & Monsters early…and the Minions are back, and the hijinks are bigger than ever.

While Minions & Monsters doesn’t quite reach the heights of the Despicable Me films, fans of everyone’s favorite yellow troublemakers will love getting more Minion backstory, meeting their previous “big bosses,” and watching the nonstop chaos unfold.

There’s also a surprising amount of adult humor sprinkled throughout (appropriate or not) that will keep parents entertained while the kids enjoy the slapstick fun. If you’re looking for a lighthearted way to beat the heat, this is a fun family outing that’s well worth a trip to the theater.

🎬 Minions & Monsters is in theaters now!

We finally made our first visit to Buc-ee’s Goodye We finally made our first visit to Buc-ee’s Goodyear! 🦫⭐️

We live just blocks away, so we decided to wait a week for the outside traffic craziness to calm down a bit before checking it out ourselves.

A few tips if you’re planning a visit:
⭐ Bullard opens tomorrow, which should help make traffic a little easier.
⭐ There are still lines for pretty much everything, but the sandwich line moves quickly.
⭐ The jerky and sweets lines take a bit longer.
⭐ There was almost no line at the bakery when we visited, so definitely grab a paddle tail!

It was still super busy, but much more manageable than opening week. Stay hydrated, be patient, and you’ll get through it!

Have you made your first Buc-ee’s run yet? What was your must-have item? 🛒🥤
