Hi friends! We’re continuing on with our Back to School Week with another fun craft – an easy Kids School Art Display! If you’re looking for Back to School ideas, remember to check out all of our fun Back to School posts here at A Night Owl! Now I don’t know about you, but Back to School for our little preschooler means lots of that picture that you see above. Now I’m sure they get more sophisticated as the years pass, but even these scribbly markings just make me swoon! I know, I’m going to have to figure out a system (rather than keeping every single one), but until then, I thought I should at least come up with a fun way to display them this year!
Enter IKEA. They have everything don’t they? On one of our recent trips I picked up some of these Bumerang pants hangers, because well they were only $.99 and I just knew I’d fine a fun use for them.
And I was right! Just a little bit of paint and a Sharpie, and I turned this cute little hanger into a Back to School themed art display for my little guy’s masterpieces! I went with the “yellow ruler” theme that I used on my recent Chalkboard Teacher’s Tote project. I thought that turned out cute and would be a fun school theme for this project too! Note: I used DecoArt Gloss Enamels (my fave!) in Primary Yellow.
Once dry, just clamp a piece of art work in between the two sides and voila! A super simple yet sweet little project, don’t you think?
And the best part is now I have them hanging in our entryway with a couple of thumbtacks showcasing some of my little guy’s art!
OUT of the backpacks and bins, NOT cluttering up the side of my refrigerator (hello, do you hear me?), but in it’s own special location. And these hangers are meant for pants, so let’s just say you could stack up the artwork in those displays! Or just choose one that you’d like to hang. All up to you!

Looks great Kimberly!! What a super cute idea. I need to use this for my son and the other little kiddos in the family who like creating art for us. I’ve been wanting to create an entire kid’s art gallery wall…these hangers look classy and perfect. Great job, thanks for the inspiration!
