Hi friends! If you’ve been hanging around with us the last couple of weeks, these photos and projects might look familiar! This year, I worked on a few Valentine’s Day projects that culminated in one amazing photo shoot with our favorite Phoenix photographer – Stacey of Dream Photography Studio! If you’re in the Phoenix area, you definitely need to look her up for all of your family photo needs! She is SO good with kids, it makes working with her on these types of project ahhhhmazing! Anyhoo, we had so much fun with all of the projects and photos (even featured on Martha Stewart here), that I thought we should pull them all together to share as great Valentine’s Day Photo Shoot Ideas! All of these projects are things you could pull together THIS week, snap some pictures and share as Valentine’s Day cards, framed gifts for family and friends and MORE!
Valentine’s Day Photo Shoot Ideas
For a great Valentine’s Day photo shoot, you want to have GREAT BACKGROUNDS! Stacey of Dream Photography Studio knows all the best locations in Phoenix, so you’ll see with our projects we have rich greens, blues and purples that really set the stage for beautiful photos!
Next, you want to have FUN PROPS! That’s where all our easy Valentine’s Day crafts come into account! We shared FOUR awesome tutorials for the crafts for this photo shoot, you can find them here:
- Flying Paper Airplane Valentines
- Glitter Vintage Soda Bottle
- Chalkboard Conversation Hearts
- Cupid’s Arrows and Quiver
Also, with great backgrounds and fun props, you want to pay mind to CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES. Of course you’ll want clothing to be cute, but somewhat neutral. Solid colors work great, with a lot of texture! The tutu dress our friend’s little girl wore was pure perfection, right? For our little guy we kept it to jeans and a white button-down, and added in a great grey sweater for some photos. Layers are great, that way you can vary what your child is wearing, without much fuss! We also added in fun accessories, like a little aviator hat for the Flying Paper Airplane shots and lensless glasses for others, which I think look cute on just about any child!
With all those great Valentine’s Day Photo Shoot Ideas in mind, here is the outcome…
