Hi friends! I’m Kendall from Songbirds & Buttons, friends and VA for Kimberly here at A Night Owl, and today I’m sharing with you a DIY Vintage Button Ornament to finish out the Trim Your Tree series! A few years ago I came across a bag full of vintage buttons at a thrift store. I’ve been using them for odd projects here and there – I just think they are so beautiful. I wanted to use them to make a keepsake of some sort, and with Christmas just around the corner – I couldn’t think of a better reason.
What you’ll need:
- Buttons
- Baker’s Twine
- A little bit of time!
And the steps:
- It’s so simple! Just string the buttons onto your bakers twine and when you have a decent number of buttons on (I used around 40) just tie the twine to create the circle.
- After the ornament was completed I added on a small bow using the bakers twine – a small little detail that makes a huge difference!
And there ya go! All done!
Isn’t it just the cutest? What do you think? Be sure to visit the rest of the Trim Your Tree DIY Ornament projects! Happy crafting!
