Strawberry Champagne Cocktail – a light and refreshing champagne cocktail has a slight hint of strawberries, making it perfect for Spring or Summer!
There’s just something so fun and special about Champagne. I’m not sure if it’s the bubbles or all of the different flavor combinations there are, but, to me, any type of champagne cocktail is simply irresistible. I rarely have them, which is a total shame, since they are so easy to make.
With the warmer weather coming up, I’ve been thinking about champagne cocktails a lot. I know the norm is to just simply add different types of juice to champagne for flavor variations, but I wanted something a little bit different.
I had just picked up some strawberries at the grocery store, and, since they are supposed to enhance the flavor of champagne, they seemed to be a perfect fit. I combined a small handful of the fresh strawberries with a bit of sugar and some water, and allowed them to simmer for several minutes.
Next, after letting the mixture cool, I simply added a bit of it to a fluted glass and then filled it with champagne. While the strawberry flavor isn’t overpowering, it makes for a nice refreshing drink.
Strawberry Champagne Cocktail
Ingredients
- 1 750 ml bottle of brut champagne chilled
- 5-6 fresh strawberries
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons water
- 4 fluted champagne glasses
Instructions
-
Combine the strawberries, sugar and water in a medium saucepan
-
Cook on medium heat for several minutes until strawberries have broken down, forming what looks like the consistency of a puree {you will need to 'mash' them a bit to help break them up}
-
Remove from heat and cool
-
Place about 1 tablespoon of strawberry puree in the bottom of each fluted glass
-
Fill each glass with champagne
-
Enjoy
Recipe Notes
If you do not care for the bits of strawberry in your glass, you can always strain the mixture to remove them.

I feel kind of silly for asking, but what is on the ground next to the champagne glass? Btw, the champagne looks delicious! I’ll be sure to try this when I’m not pregnant. 🙂
