Pillsbury Purely Simple ups your baking game by making it so very easy to make a cake using a mix that contains NO colors, preservatives, or artificial flavors, for a homemade taste that’s simply scrumptious. We headed down to our local Kroger store to try them out!





Rocky Road Cake
Ingredients
- 1 Pillsbury Purely Simple Chocolate Cake mix
- 3 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup milk
- 3 heaping tablespoons cocoa
- 1 package powdered sugar 16-ounce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions

Prepare Pillsbury Purely Simple Chocolate cake mix as directed on package, pour into 9x13 inch pan and bake.

When cake is done, sprinkle with miniature marshmallows and nuts.

Put back in oven, and bake until marshmallows begin to melt.

Remove from oven and let cool.

In a heavy sauce pan, over medium heat, bring butter, milk, and cocoa to a boil, stirring until butter melts.

Remove from heat; beat in powdered sugar and vanilla.

Pour frosting evenly over cake in pan.

Serve warm.

My granddaughter is turning eight, and she requested a rocky road cake for the family dinner. I hadn’t heard of that before but felt confident I could find a recipe for it.
