Hi friends! It’s that time of year – time for holiday cards in the mail – and today I’m sharing with you how we’re displaying our this year: a Ladder Christmas Card Display! Ever since Jen of Tatertots & Jello shared her Christmas Ladder How-to last year, I’ve been on the hunt for a ladder. You see, I’m not quite at the powertools stage (that may be on my list of goals for 2013), so I wanted to find one to purchase and possibly makeover.
Then this Summer, I found this little pink beauty hanging out in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby! I had seen them in the store for weeks, but at $40, I wasn’t about to do it. But on clearance for $10? Absolutely! So it’s been hanging out in our garage until just last week!
So I grabbed a bottle of my favorite paint: Annie Sloan Chalk Paint! I got Pure White to match the moldings in our house.
After a couple coats and a layer of clear wax, the ladder went from pretty in pink to perfectly white! I wrapped some twine around the rungs…
Added a couple of clothespins, and voila! A fun, ladder Christmas card display!
Now it’s ready to be filled up! I’m just getting my cards out this week, so hopefully we’ll also get some new cards in the mail too! And now this little nook in our family room has the perfect addition. And we can see our cards this year as we’re spending time together in the family room. Love it! Thanks to Jen for the continual inspiration – we’re so happy with how it turned out! How are you displaying your Christmas cards this year?
