Hi A Night Owl readers! It’s Stacey from Glued To My Crafts and I’m bringing you another great kid craft idea. Can you believe Father’s Day is just around the corner? I swear these holidays and events keep creeping up faster & faster. If you and your child are looking to do a creative gift for the special men in your life – look no further! Today I’m sharing Father’s Day Kids Craft Ideas that are easy to make. The supplies are really simple & cheap but still make a clever gift. The main focus is puzzle pieces and you can easily raid your own personal collection or pick up a cheap puzzle set at your local Dollar Tree.
Ready to learn how to “piece” it all together? Let’s grab our supplies!
Supplies:
- Puzzle Pieces
- Wood Frame
- Various Colored Paints
- Paint Brushes
- Tacky Glue {Wood Glue or Hot Glue will work too}
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Marker
Directions:
- First have your child paint the backside of each puzzle piece. We went with red, white and gray because those happen to be my husband’s favorite college football team colors {Go Bucks!} Let puzzle pieces dry completely.
- While the paint dries on the puzzle pieces, trim down your cardstock to fit inside the picture frame slot. Using a marker, write “Love You To Pieces” on the cardstock and place inside the frame. {This would be great for older kids to write and really personalize}
- Now glue the puzzle pieces to the wood frame, making sure to cover it entirely. Set aside to let the glue dry.
- Add other embellishments if you like.
Isn’t this a fun way to recycle AND make a great gift for someone? And of course – you can totally customize this however you want. You could skip the painting part and just glue the puzzle pieces “as is” on the frame or even change up the wording/put a picture in the center instead. The fun part is making it your own!
