Make a beautiful, large statement wreath for your home with this easy Large Wreath Hack!
Hi friends! Can you believe that Christmas is right around the corner? With the busyness of the season, family trips, a now-walking toddler and of course those pesky colds – we were a little light on Christmas projects this year. However, what we did put together I made sure made an impact! One of the projects that’s been on my list since we moved into our house is a large wreath on our main window. But I didn’t want to spend a TON. And of course I wanted it to fit my style. And that’s when this project was born – this Large Wreath Hack. And I got everything I needed at my local Michaels.
Michaels has everything you need to make your holiday merry. For more quick and simple DIY holiday ideas, check out the projects on Michaels.com.
Don’t mind the shutters – they need to be repainted and I’m still trying to determine the new color scheme we’re going with. I’m so indecisive! 😉 But this window is just about the only thing that is truly visible from the street to our house, so it’s the perfect window to decorate. So a large wreath is perfect for the holidays! So how did I whip up this beauty – here’s the trick, it’s TWO WREATHS!
I got everything I needed from my local Michaels Stores. Two wreaths, one LARGE and one standard sized. Then I just needed some floral wire, floral wire cutters and large ribbon. Done and done!
Then I simply STACKED the two wreaths! The standard sized one fit perfectly in the center of the larger wreath. I flipped them upside down so that I could secure them together from the back.
Then using the floral wire, I secured the two wreaths together at various points. Easy peasy! Then I hung it on our window out front with a little wire and ribbon! Now if you’re a fan of how to tie this ribbon – check out my friend’s blog Ella Claire! She tied her wreaths this way this year and I’m obsessed. It’s my favorite! She’s going to be doing a tutorial soon…
I love how it turned out and let me tell you – it’s a big statement for just a little bit of work! And since I grabbed it all at Michaels, if you hit up their sales you can get each wreath for a fraction of what you’d pay for a large custom piece! And this wreath is perfectly me – simple but striking.
What do you think? I’m ready to make wreaths year-round now! I have my secret weapon – my Large Wreath Hack!
