Hi friends! If you follow me on Instagram, you may know by now that I attended a blogger event last week for the grand opening of a local Dream Dinners location! Dream Dinners, has a nice ring to it right? So why is it a dream and just WHAT is it? Simply put, Dream Dinners is a meal assembly store that takes all the hard work out of making healthy dinners for your family. Named “the grandmother” of fix-and-freeze businesses by TIME magazine, Dream Dinners is recognized as the originator of innovative and convenient dinner assembly stores. So what does that mean for you? Well I’ll tell you what it means for me…
It means that my family gets homemade dinners more often. Let’s be honest, it may look like here that I get it ALL done. I mean, I work full-time, run a busy blog and have a family? Yup, superwoman over here. But that isn’t reality. Reality is, there are many things that get deprioritized and fall through the cracks. And sometimes (more often than I would like), it’s healthy, homemade dinners. I make my best attempt, and sometimes we do really well. But it means a LOT of planning for me, a lot of shopping, and a lot of prep work. Because I typically only have 30 minutes to get dinner on the table after work before the boys are winding down for bed.
So I was anxious to try these Dream Dinners. I think I was jumping up and down with both hands in the air. I had a hunch it would be a perfect solution for us. I headed down to the event last week and got and introduction. The basics – you select the meals and servings you want from the menu (3 or 6-seving meals). You schedule a time to go in to assemble your meals. You get baggies to fill and each station has a combination of fresh and frozen ingredients that you assemble according to instructions, so that when you’re home and ready to make the meal, you follow very SIMPLE steps.
So let me tell you – SIX meals in – I’m in love! Like, I already place our next order love. I mean, just look at that picture above, with my refigerator tray full of meals. Can I tell you how reassuring that was every night to come home to? And to know, just 30 or so minutes later we’d be eating a homemade meal. And that I didn’t have to spend hours the weekend before shopping and prepping? And that I could spend that precious time with my boys instead? Yes, this works for us. It really is revolutionary.
Don’t get me wrong – I still love to cook. I’ll still try and share recipes with you here! But the honest truth is, that stuff never happened during the week anyhow. So now during the week my family doesn’t have to suffer with low quality food and I don’t have to bear the guilt. So what’s your story? I know some of you are in the same boat! But even those of you who might have more time for dinner, do you need a night off here or there? Do you want to introduce exciting NEW meals into the mix? It’s been interesting to see how our young boys have responded to the variety we’ve had over the past week. But it’s exciting to me. And I sleep better at night knowing that my choices are no longer impacting our dinner routine. We’ve found our dream solution – in Dream Dinners!
