Hi friends – it’s time! I have another fun 12 Months of Martha project to share with you! If you’re new around here, this year I’m involved in a 12 Months of Martha program with Martha Stewart Living. You can get more information and follow along on our 12 Months of Martha Page! Now on to this month’s project. I have a confession to make: I’m a hoarder of wrapping paper. Ok, maybe craft supplies in general, but I have always had an obsession with pretty paper! Even in the days of quick bags and tissue paper, I prefer wrapping gifts! It’s even one of my favorite parts of Christmas.
So when I got a look at our #12MonthsofMartha supplies this month, fabulous stencils and great Spring-hued paints, I knew they would make some fabulous custom wrapping paper! Even though I have quite a supply, I’ve lately started looking for ways to scale back what we have. My craft room is overflowing and the last thing I need is 20 rolls of paper I only use once in a while. I will always love to wrap presents, but I thought, what better way to personalize a gift than with handmade paper? This also would allow you to scale back your collection and just own a simple white roll of paper or even kraft paper, which would also look great stenciled. Don’t you think? Well either way, whether you’re looking for something highly customized and personalized, or you’re looking to scale back without losing that personal touch, let’s talk about stenciling wrapping paper!
What you’ll need:
- Plain white roll of wrapping paper
- Martha Stewart Paper Stencils
- Martha Stewart Paints
- Martha Stewart Foam Pouncers
And the steps:
- Measure and cut the size of paper you need to wrap your gift.
- Tape the paper down to a working surface, and tape the stencil securely on top.
- Using a foam pouncer, fill in the stencil with paint.
- If you need to cover more of the paper, wait until the paint dries then move the stencil to the next portion to be painted.
- Finish covering the piece of wrapping paper until you’re happy with coverage.
Try using various stencils and colors for some fun results!
Then wrap those presents!
