DIY Confetti Ornaments

Hi friends! We’ve been sharing a TON of handmade ornaments this season during our  Trim Your Tree series and today is no exception! Today we’re teaming up with some fabulous DecoArt bloggers to bring you fun ornament ideas, including our latest and greatest – these DIY Confetti Ornaments! I happen to think DecoArt products and ornaments (or any craft project really) just go together – like our Glitter Reindeer Ornaments or one we shared last year, our Snow-Capped Ornaments! And for this round I used decoupage again, but this time instead of the glitter like I used with our reindeer, I used CONFETTI. Yes, confetti. And this shiny confetti I found is like glitter on steroids, don’t you think? Naturally I needed an ornament covered in it, right?! Well that’s just what I did.

What you’ll need:

• DecoArt Americana Decoupage
• Bulb ornament
• Confetti
• Paintbrush

And the steps:

1. Paint a generous layer of Americana Decoupage onto your bulb.
2. Roll your decoupage-covered bulb in a bowl full of confetti.
3. Let dry and shake off excess confetti.

That’s it! Now with glitter or many other mediums, I would paint another layer of decoupage on top, but for this project I just left as is as I didn’t want anything to dull that metallic sheen. However, because of the thick layer of decoupage, that stuff is stuck in place!

And now she sits pretty on our tree, all blingy and reflecting out all the light around her…
