Create this beautiful DIY Boho Floral Arrangement in just a few easy steps!
Hi friends! Did you know that Michaels offers free classes in their stores? You can try out a new craft skill for just the cost of supplies! How fun does that sound? Well I thought it sounded like a lot of fun for a crafty night out so I recently signed up for a Boho Floral Arrangement class and headed down to my local Michaels!
Oh and what fun we did have. I met up with my girl Destiny of Just Destiny Mag and while I guarantee you that she could teach a class on floral arrangements, we had fun crafting the night away.
One of the things I loved about taking the class is I got to wander the aisles looking for my supplies and after purchasing, plopped them right down on the table and got to crafting. Now when can you say that? I know my craft supplies are typically stashed away in bags for a bit, hoping to someday see the light of a crafty endeavor. But this night we went from purchase to finished project in just an hour!
The floral section was so fun to shop from – I was naturally drawn to corals, probably my favorite color that my 5 year old likes to call “that orangey pink” color. As the instructor pointed out as she sent us on our way shopping, we needed to pick one large focal flower and other smaller flowers that complemented.
Got it! After purchasing, I brought my haul back to the room and got started on the arrangement.
What you’ll need:
- Small bucket
- Styrofoam blocks
- Floral stems (focal and coordinating)
- Floral wire cutters
- Glue
- Saw or knife (for cutting styrofoam)
And the steps:
- First you’re going to want to cut your styrofoam blocks down to a size that will fit snugly into your bucket. If the foam is somewhat loose, simply hot glue the foam blocks down.
- Then start with your focal flower in the center of your arrangement, and adjusting the length of the stems with a floral wire cutter, add in your complementary stems around the focal stem.
- Continue to add flowers and greenery until your arrangement is filled out and you’re happy with the end result.
I love how both Destiny and I picked similar flowers but the arrangements turned out different and unique!
After the class I couldn’t wait to set my new arrangement out – it’s perfect spring decor!
Great class. Great company. But do you want to know one of my most favorite parts about the experience? No mess. I didn’t have to tear up half my house while creating – do I have any messy crafty friends out there? I’m definitely one of them, my husband calls me a craft tornado. But not this time. The mess made at Michaels – stays at Michaels. And now I just get to enjoy the finished product.
So are you ready to enjoy FREE CLASSES at Michaels? Grab your girlfriends and sign up! Another great way to explore your creativity is by trying out a CRAFT KIT. Michaels has everything from sewing kits to art kits and everything in between.
