Black Panther Rice Krispie Treats
Hi friends, it’s here! The day that we’ve been waiting for, Black Panther on BluRay! This was hands down one of my family’s favorite movies this year and we’ve been anxiously awaiting it coming out on DVD to be able to watch it as many times as we’d like to at home! Because I know my boys are so excited to see it, I thought it would be fun to whip up special treats for the occasion. And since rice krispie treats are a big hit in our home, we made these festive Black Panther Rice Krispie Treats for our first at home Black Panther movie night!
How to Make Black Panther Rice Krispie Treats
Now they might look really fancy at first, but let me tell you, you can make these fun and festive treats in just a few easy steps! First, you can make your own rice krispie treats or you can do like we did and start with store-bought.
Then you’re going to want to create claws for Black Panther’s claw necklace. Simply line a baking tray with wax paper. Place about 3 small drops of black food coloring into your fondant and knead until completely grey in color. Roll long pieces of fondant, about ¼ of an inch thick in width and the same length as the cereal treats. You will need 12 of these – once rolled out, carefully place each one on baking sheet. Roll 60 small fondant spheres, about ¼ of an inch in diameter. Shape each sphere into “claw-like” points (much like on Black Panther’s uniform). To do this, roll each one into cylinders and pinch the top. Flatten it slightly in the middle. Brush your fondant shapes with silver food dust.
Next up, the frosting! Using an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, and milk on medium speed. Gradually increase the speed to high. Your buttercream is done once it forms stiff peaks. Divide into two bowls. Color one bowl of icing with the remainder of your black food coloring, the other with your violet food coloring. Place both in larger bowl and fold – you don’t want the colors to mix/blend. Instead, you’ll want to create a “marbled” look.
Using an offset spatula, frost each rice cereal treat. Then, carefully piece together the fondant pieces on the frosted treats. Enjoy!
