Baked Cake Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon divided
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup super fine sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat sugar and egg together until creamy and light-colored.
  2. Add oil, milk, and vanilla and mix well.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/4 tsp cinnamon.
  4. Slowly add flour mixture into egg mixture until well combined.
  5. Pour batter into greased donut maker or donut pan.
  6. If using a donut pan, bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
  7. Combine 1 tablespoon and 1/2 cup super fine sugar.
  8. Once donuts are fully baked, remove from maker or pan, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
