Easy Baked Apples

Brown sugar, butter and three spices make these easy baked apples perfect for cooler fall weather!

Ingredients

  • 4 red apples of the same size
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tablespoon salted buter
  • Caramel sauce optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Thoroughly rinse apples
  3. In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
  4. Mix in pecans, if using; set aside
  5. Core apples and set in a baking dish; add water
  6. Stuff apples generously, don't let that flavor go to waste!
  7. Cut butter into four equal pieces and put one piece on each apple
  8. Place apples in a baking dish and add water
  9. Cover with a foil tent and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until apples are tender
