“Mom, what’s that smell? Is it Thanksgiving today?” That’s what I heard from my five-year old as dinner was cooking away in the kitchen last night. But no, of course Thanksgiving isn’t in September last I checked, although with how quickly this year has gone I won’t be surprised when it gets here all too fast. But what my little one was smelling was our go-to holiday dinner: ham, mashed potatoes and warm sweet rolls. Sometimes what we have for “Sunday Supper” as well, when I feel up to making a big meal. But not this time, you see – I’ve found a way to make Sunday Supper EASY and attainable any day of the week with Idahoan Signature Russets!
New Idahoan Signature Russets mashed potatoes are so delicious! The secret is that Idahoan potatoes are grown to perfection in Idaho’s rich volcanic soil during its warm summer days and cool summer nights. In fact, more than six pounds of premium Idahoan russet potatoes go into every 16 oz. pouch. And they have a nice smooth taste like original homemade mashed potatoes with just a hint of butter and cream. And the BEST PART? I whipped them up in just 5 minutes with just a little water!
So for our “Sunday Supper” this week we had a quick and easy dinner ham that I prepared like our holiday ham in just minutes in our instant pot, delicious and creamy Idahaoan Russets mashed potatoes and sweet rolls with butter. Mmmmm…delicious! And I spent less than 30 minutes in the kitchen. Now THAT is unheard of for this kind of meal in our house!
And my boys gobbled it all down! They always thank me for making dinner, but last night they said “Mom, thank you for making SUCH A GOOD dinner!” Haha, I’ll take it. AND I’ll be making it again for sure, soon! In fact, I’m sure it’ll be part of our regular rotation going forward.
So tell me, what meal will you add NEW Idahoan Signature Russets to, to make your Sunday Supper easier?
