In 2013, a non-profit organization that represents the producers of household cleaning products, The American Cleaning Institute® (ACI), launched their KEY Pledge safety education campaign and they continue in their commitment in keeping children safe from accidental laundry packet exposures and injury. A recent survey conducted by ACI found that 86% of consumers are improperly storing laundry packets, often placing them on the washing machine, dryer, counter, on shelves or on the floor.
ACI and I are inviting you to take the KEY Pledge online for laundry safety at www.keypledge.com. It takes just moments to take the pledge and will serve as a reminder to keep single-load liquid laundry packets out of reach of children, and also to educate family and friends about the safe use and storage of these laundry products. Learn more at www.cleaninginstitute.org.
85% of laundry packet accidents happen when the product is out in the open, so please join me in taking the pledge as a reminder that safe storage is the KEY to preventing accidents and ensuring our children are safe! Be the KEY to a safe laundry room and routine.
