After months of doing a little here, a little there…we have finally finished AJ’s Toy Story bedroom! We moved into our new house about a year and a half ago, and though I had set up a nursery for AJ in our previous home, it just felt too young for our now toddler. Since he loves Toy Story, Woody, and Buzz, a Toy-Story themed room was a perfect fit.
I did some in-depth research (you know, hours of Pinterest pinning) and came across this mock-up of Andy’s room in Toy Story 3, which I used as “pinspiration”:
And here is how our Toy Story room turned out!
I painted the room a liveable shade of blue from Dunn-Edwards. The yellow vinyl stars I purchased from Amazon, though you could make your own if you have a Silhouette or Cricut. I made this Etch-A-Sketch chalkboard from a thrifted mirror (tutorial post HERE). On each side of the chalkboard are pictures of AJ with Woody and Jessie at California Adventure. That was quite an experience for him! The pictures are in inexpensive frames that I embellished with a star and cowboy boot from Hobby Lobby.
The Western-star hooks I found at Hobby Lobby.
I found these two art posters on Amazon.
The patchwork blue and tan bedding I found at Target. The accent pillow I made from a bandanna and poly fil.
This fun leather shag rug I found for a steal on Amazon.
This hook again is from Hobby Lobby, and another chalkboard I made from a thrifted wooden plaque.

For his first Christmas, AJ’s Uncle T named a star after him. His certificate and star map are hanging in IKEA frames that I embellished with a rocket and a planet from Hobby Lobby.
Lastly, I made some bandanna bunting to hang above AJ’s window (tutorial post HERE).
What do you think? We LOVE the way it all turned out and know that AJ loves it too! Isn’t that the best part?
