Hi friends! Time for another installment of Technology Tuesday and the latest innovation that can make our lives just a little bit easier! But this week we’re talking about a new source of frustration. I mean, technology can be great. I was excited about getting an iPad – just think of all the things you can do without having to lug around your laptop or trying to get much done on a little phone! But after owning an iPad for over a year, I just don’t use it that much. One of the main reasons? I hate typing on the iPad screen. In fact, I’m much more adept at typing on the iPhone, so I tend to use my phone for much of what I thought I would use my iPad for. So this past year my iPad has turned into an expensive portable movie player and toy for my toddlers.

Now this product is slick! I’ve always liked the idea of a keyboard for my iPad. In fact, the last conference I was at, I saw a few people with a keyboard and I thought – GENIUS! That’s exactly what I need. But when I received the New Trent Airbender, it was so much more than a keyboard! Yes, the keyboard is really nice and connects to effortlessly to your iPad through Bluetooth technology. It’s a little smaller than a laptop keyboard, but is really easy to get used to! But keyboard is also a case! I had to remove the case that I had previously on my iPad, but I have to say that I think I feel more comfortable now that my iPad is safe! The case is sturdy and together with the keyboard, really encompasses the iPad without making it bulky.
Now I really feel like I have a complete tool to carry around with me. I feel completely comfortable taking my iPad with me to work, where I didn’t before. I can use it like a day planner now and ditch my pen and paper (I know some of you just fainted). But I’ve always wanted to replace pen and paper. I’m much more digital and like to synch my lists across my computer, iPad and phone. And now I can.
And now I can’t wait for my next conference! I can take notes, make contacts, all from the convenience of my iPad! No bulky laptop – no squinting at my iPhone. Problem solved. Oh how my kids will be disappointed that mommy is now reclaiming her iPad! I’m sure they’ll survive, right? But you know what else is great? If I do still let them use the iPad, the case detaches from the keyboard in one easy motion!
How cool is that? Overall I’m so very pleased with this product. And at just $39.95 on Amazon – it’s a STEAL. Literally. From using this device, I would expect it to be three times that price. So if you’re in the market for a tool to make your iPad more study AND more useful, go for it!
