Hi friends! Yesterday was THE DAY. The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival kicked off with a bang! I was so excited to be invited by Disney to cover the start of one of my favorite festivals ever. Last year, my husband Andre and I went to the festival for a date weekend and it was so much fun, so of course I jumped at the chance to head back. We were greeted by the chairman of the festival, the manager of California Adventure and the head chef John State who covered some of his favorites and updates they made to the festival line up this year. We sampled some of their favorite and items they wanted to highlight (which we’ll share now), then we were let loose on the festival to find some favorites of our own, which you can find here: 2018 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival.

So let’s kick it off with the featured selection from the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival Media Preview!

Caramel Popcorn Crispy Treat from Off the Cobb from Off the Cob. Now this one I wasn’t sure of at first glance, but once I bit into it I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the combo of popcorn and chocolate, the perfect combo of sweet and salty!

Watermelon Lemonade (non-alcoholic), with optional Habanero Sugar & Chili-Lime Half-Rim from Peppers Cali-ente. This one is cold, sweet and refreshing with an optional spicy kick! I loved the combo.

Spice Oumph!® on Pita with Avocado Hummus and Garlic Sauce from Avocado Time. This is the first time I’ve had Oumph!® is a plant protein made from beans that is really tasty. Honestly I didn’t know it was a veggie before I ate the little shawarma taco and I couldn’t tell! I would certainly suggest giving it a try.

Grilled Asparagus Caesar Salad from Eat Your Greens. I’m not typically an asparagus fan but I love the way that these were prepared! Grilled to perfection then topped with sauce and a fun crouton crunch this is a great one to snag from the Eat Your Greens kiosk, which has the best set up with a wall full of greenery (great for selfies!).

Watsonville Strawberry Pie from Strawberry Patch. YUM! This little strawberry pie doesn’t just look pretty, it’s tasty too! The Strawberry Patch is a must visit, we tried everything from that kiosk and not one thing disappointed!

Bourbon Chocolate Whoopie Pie from I Heart Artichokes. OH MY! Now this little whoopie pie packs a punch, but the bourbon and chocolate combo is unbelievably delicious! You need to make a stop for this delicious dessert option.

Grilled Harris Ranch Beef Tenderloin Slider with Chimichurri Sauce from Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo. Now this is one of my returning favorites from last year! You get a hearty beef tenderloin in a slider – what more could you want? So delicious – this is on top of my list.

Creamy Mac & Cheese with Garlic Bread Crumble from Garlic Kissed. Who doesn’t love mac & cheese?! There are two mac & cheese options this year and they are both must-haves! If you’re a mac and cheese fan you can’t go wrong here!

Verlasso™ Sustainable Salmon Peruvian Poke with a Cucumber-Lime Salad and Aju Verde Salsa from Peppers Cali-ente. That is a mouthful! But if you’re on board the poke bowl rage then this one is for you! The flavor combo is perfection and the cucumber salad is the perfect finish!
