Hi friends! At this point, all the kiddos are Back to School right? I think this is the perfect time of year to reevaluate just exactly what’s going into those lunch boxes and into our kids tummies each and every day. On top of everything I just notice that the better they eat, the better they feel and surely the better they perform at school. And with my youngest in Preschool and my oldest in Kindergarten this year it’s just something at the forefront of my mind.
Disclosure: I’m no nutritionist. I’m sure there are plenty of things that we do “wrong” or plenty that we can do better. But one thing you’ll find with all moms, we do our best. And my best includes Horizon Organic. My kids naturally have issues with dairy, but I’ve noticed that with organic milk we all do much better! And Horizon Organic is our organic milk of choice.
Another one of the things I try to pay attention to is how well rounded they eat. And it’s a great lesson to teach our kids too, so we created the “My Healthy Eats Checklist.” Especially with my kids so young, I think the checklist is a great way to teach them to get all their nutrition in for the day! Dairy, fruits, veggies – they’re all on the list. And at the end of the day (or at each meal) your kids can “check off” the good food they put in their bellies that day!
