Hi friends! It’s that time of year. We’re heading into the holiday season and for many of us that means house guests! Where are you on the spectrum of excitement versus anxiety? I know for us it would mean a lot of cleaning and organizing before we were ready but today we’re going to share some tips on being “Guest Ready” with Better Homes and Gardens products at Walmart!
My good friends Randi over at Dukes & Duchesses and Anna at Ask Anna both shared some great tips for getting your entry way ready for guests. And Chris over at Celebrations at Home shares how to get that guest room ready. Today we’re going to focus on the bathroom, because I think that can be such a fun area to win over your guests! I literally took our boys bathroom from, well being ALL BOY, to being spa chic in just one morning and for under $100! SAY WHAT?! Let’s break it down…
First things first. You’ve gotta CLEAN that bathroom! Like really well. If you’re like me and have little ones or lots of boys that may mean some elbow grease. But there’s nothing more “hotel like” than a fresh and clean bathroom, right? Once you have a clean slate it’s time to head down to Walmart. You’d be amazed at the quality of products you can find and that WON’T break the bank! Just check out the entire line of Better Homes and Gardens products, and you know if BHG’s name is on it – it’s going to be good! We snagged fresh new bath rugs, new towels, a large basket, new soap and a tumbler, a candle and a decorative frame. Again – products that have the ability to MAKEOVER your bathroom for less than $100!
Now that you have your room clean and all the supplies for the makeover, start swapping out the basics! First up we changed out our bathroom rugs with the new plush ones from Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart! Ohhh and are they comfy! We actually switched them out for ones we had paid much more for, and I have to admit I like these better! Your guests will never know how much you spent, they are truly thick and comfortable. Same with the towels! We laid out our large, thick new towels on hooks all ready to use. Tuck these babies away and get a second set for yourself, that will ensure that your guests have brand new looking towels each time they visit.
Now that you’ve laid the foundation with a clean room, great new rugs and towels, it’s time for the details! Don’t you just LOVE the details? First up, grab a basket for hand towels, wash cloths and even a few travel sized toiletries your guests may have left behind. Chances are they have brought everything they need, but it never hurts to add in a little more! You could even add some bath fizzies and other spa items in case they’d like an evening just to relax while they’re away.
It’s always a great idea when you have guests to snag either fresh flowers for the bathroom or light a great smelling candle. I’ve bought my fair share of flowers lately, so this time we opted for an amazing candle by Better Homes and Gardens. It smelled so great at the store, but let me tell you all lit up it smells FANTASTIC! Soft Cashmere Amber – look that one up! We also grabbed the cutest little frame at Walmart too! I saw this same frame at the #BHGStyleShowcase last month and fell in love. It’s JUST like something I’d make, but I was able to snag it for just a few dollars and skip all the hard work. I added a quick little printable I whipped up (you can download this and another option at the bottom of this post!) that says welcome friends and family! There’s nothing like adding a little personal touch. You could even add names and dates, an inspirational quote or a sweet note each day to make the experience truly special.
Last but not least, I found the most beautiful glass soap dispenser and holder, you guessed it, by Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart! Now if these pieces don’t say “spa” and high end, I don’t know what does! I just love them so much I will probably sneak them into our bathroom before long. Your guests will definitely appreciate these beautiful pieces in your room.
I just love how everything came together – under budget – and so effortlessly! The quality of the BHG products are just outstanding and can easily change up your rooms from drab to fab in just a little time!
So when you’re ready to get your HOME ready this holiday season, keep the Better Homes and Gardens products at Walmart in mind! You can makeover any number of rooms within your budget and make your guests as comfortable as they can be.
