Hi friends! A few weeks ago I had the crazy awesome privilege to head out to Des Moines, Iowa to the Meredith Corporation for the Better Homes and Gardens Style Showcase! The purpose was to preview some of the awesome Better Homes and Gardens products at Walmart that you can expect to see in Fall 2014 and into Spring 2015! And let me tell you, you are going to be amazed! From bedding to lighting to organization, BHG at Walmart has everything you need to make your home fabulous, and on a budget!
We arrived at the Meredith Corporation, a gorgeous brick building set in Des Moines. It was fabulous to get a tour of the building that has been around for years – we even saw the filled in train tracks on the lower levels that used to ship out the printed press. We had an amazing introduction to the upcoming Better Homes and Gardens line at Walmart, both by style makers from BHG and Walmart, even vendor representatives. Not only did we get sneak peeks into upcoming lines, but also design advice as to what will be big the next few seasons.
One of the main themes to many of the new products and styles that are coming out is Farmhouse Luxury. Don’t you just LOVE that? A mix of shabby chic with modern and contemporary lines. For the next few seasons you’ll continue to see a focus on natural elements, like burlap and rope. I love these lighting options that you see here, like this Rattan Cylinder Uplight Lamp! The great thing about BHG lighting at Walmart is you can mix and match the base with the shade to really customize your look!
Another present theme in the new BHG products at Walmart is COLOR. Who doesn’t love a little pop of color! And from your dining table to the bedroom, there will be plenty of fresh and exuberant colors to choose from. I love this colorful bedding, the designs and the pattern mixing! To achieve this same look at home, pick up the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Collection in Jeweled Damask as well as the Better Homes and Gardens Exploded Floral Pillow. And don’t you just love those dinner napkins fashioned into a bow tie? Such a fun twist for your dining table!
BHG Style Director Max Wilker shared tons of tips and ideas for decorating bedrooms with the new BHG products at Walmart. There are so many colors and styles to choose from, from great options for bedding to lighting, featuring these amazing Moroccan lanterns that are coming soon! You can also transition from a global style to a glam, chic style too! The BHG products at Walmart are so versatile to fit a number of tastes. I fell in love with this Better Homes and Gardens Tufted Comforter Set in white. Isn’t it amazing? It looks so high end, but you can get a set for under $40!
Accent pillows ALWAYS add so much personality to any space. A large part of our budget for our Family Room Refresh we did with BHG at Walmart this Summer went to updating pillows. And there is such an AMAZING line of accent pillows with BHG at Walmart! Are you still hanging with me here? There is still plenty more to show!
There are also plenty of Better Homes and Gardens products at Walmart to help you get organized! From your pantry to your closet, they have you covered! I know there are PLENTY of these products I’ll be picking up to help us tidy things up at home! Next up, we heard from someone I have followed for years, Nancy Wall Hopkins, Senior Deputy Food and Entertaining Editor at Better Homes and Gardens!
Nancy shared how we can put together effortless yet elegant dinner parties with simple items! I loved her 5-minute holiday centerpieces! She was such a joy to listen to and had such great food and holiday advice! We also got a sneak peek into the Fall and Winter holiday items that will be offered by BHG at Walmart for your kitchen! Check out these adorable tablescapes…
Next up was a tour of the BHG test kitchens, prop room and styling kitchen. I think this part was a blogger’s dream! And I can tell you after seeing the prop room, I now see that I clearly need one of these for our house. Haha! My husband would appreciate the props living somewhere else for sure.
And last up on our tour – the actual Better Homes and Gardens GARDEN. Just gorgeous! I could have sat there for days! What I loved is that they open up the garden to the public a few days a week for folks to come and enjoy the ambiance while they sit and each lunch. Isn’t that lovely? If I was nearby, I’d definitely be there all the time!
Well did you stick around until the end? If so, cheers to you! Trust me, I had MANY more images I could share! It was such an amazing time! I’m REALLY excited about all of the amazing things that are coming out by Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart. This coming year I will be featuring their products right here, so be sure to stay tuned for product and styling tips! And I’ll leave you today with a little #BHGStyleShowcaseSelfie with the fabulous BHG Editor Eddie Ross, me and my dear friends Debbie from Refresh Restyle and Randi from Dukes & Duchesses!
