Hi friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed following along with all of our fun Disney Junior inspired treats this summer, including our Puppy Dog Pals Puppy Chow Snack Mix and our adorable Lion Guard Lion Pops!

Our boys love tuning into the Disney Channel and watching their favorite shows. One of Adrian’s favorites is Mickey and the Roadster Racers! It’s right up there with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse because if you’ve read about our Disney adventures you know that he absolutely ADORES Mickey Mouse! And because I know that our boys also adore Mickey Crispy Treats when we visit the Disney parks, I knew that it would be a FUN treat to whip up for NEW episodes of Mickey and the Roadster Racers this summer! They take a little bit of time but really, they are so easy to make!

First I whipped up a fresh batch of rice crispy treats (see classic recipe below) in a large jelly roll pan. These are thinner than I would normally make and I also used another pan to press down on top to try to condense the treats as much as possible, to make them ideal for the Mickey crispy pops!

Once those were set up – I used a Mickey head cookie cutter to cut out the Mickey shaped rice crispy treats!

They’re cute just as is – right?! Literally those two steps didn’t take much time at all and I know your kiddos would appreciate these treats too! So if you’re strapped for time, stop right here! But I kept going… To make the treats into pops, I dipped popsicle sticks into a little melted vanilla candy melts and inserted them at the bottom of the crispy treats. I let those dry for a bit before moving to the next step because you’re going to be handling them quite a bit.

Once you feel those popsicle sticks are cooled and secure, you can move to the next step of decorating! We made 4 DIFFERENT kinds of Homemade Mickey Crispy Treats – classic Mickey and mini chocolate candy covered like you’ll find in the parks, and two specific Mickey and the Roadster Racers inspired pops – checkered flag and race track themed! Let’s start with Classic Mickey.

Classic Mickey

Start by melting chocolate candy melts – I used a combination of light and dark cocoa to achieve a color I liked. I also used shallow small paper plates as you don’t need a lot of chocolate to dip and you need it to be shallow to dip the front of your Homemade Mickey Crispy Treat.

Once dipped, set aside to let dry. Since some of the chocolate may settle down into the nooks of the crispy treat – for this one you may want to let dry and dip once again. Once the chocolate layer is dry, melt red candy melts into a candy piping bag and add red to the bottom of the crispy treat. Smooth that out before moving to the next step.

Before the red melts harden, add two yellow candies for buttons and red sanding sugar on top.

Let them dry and voila! Classic Homemade Mickey Crispy Treats!

Candy Covered

For this treat, you’re going to start with the same chocolate melts as before.

This time right after dipping, you’re going to want to dip into a plate or bowl of mini chocolate candies!

Checkered Flag

For this treat, we started with bright white vanilla candy melts. Dip your crispy treat and let dry. You may also have to do two sets of dips with these ones as well.

Once dry, I used a ruler with a metal side to add straight lines as a guide. You could use any straight edge but the metal side was a bonus because I could just press into the treat a little. Then I added black candy melts to a candy piping bag, melted them, and used that to make the black checks to the treat.

I’ll admit this one took a little bit to do, but I think it turned out so fun!

Race Track

For this one we melted black candy melts and dipped the treats for a race track base!

Once dry, I added white candy melts to a candy piping bag and drew three circles in the middle of the center and the ears.

Once those were dry, I went back in with a candy melts bottle for a little more precision and added road lines and defined the race track a bit more. Then I used the red candy piping bag from earlier to add a red Mickey in the center!

These ones were also a little more tricky but I love how the Mickey and the Roadster Racers themed Homemade Mickey Crispy Treats turned out!

There’s just nothing like a fun morning with my boys! I’m looking forward to a summer full of days like these. And lucky for us, there are NEW episodes of Disney Junior’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers almost every “FRiYAY” morning! New episodes premiere on the Disney Channel first between 6am and 10am. Be sure to tune into the next new episode on August 11th at 8:30am, “Donald’s Garage.”

Mickey leaves town to pick up an important auto part. Left in charge, Donald thinks it’s his big opportunity to make improvements in the garage. But his overbearing management style alienates the staff and puts the brakes on the work for a very important job.

We’re looking forward to it and hope you are too! If your kiddos are fans of Mickey and the Roadster Racers like mine are, we hope you give our Homemade Mickey Crispy Treats a try! A fun treat for a fun viewing party with your kids. We’re building a summer to remember.

Interesting recipe which can be enjoyed by girls and boys. I want to try this at home and summon my inner child. By the way, where did you get your Mickey Mouse cutter?

Aren’t these SO cute!! I’m really terrible at baking so these are right up my alley! Easy, fun and delicious. I’m a travel blogger and I recently added a Disney specialist to my agency so I’m finding out more and more amazing fun things about Disney! I can’t wait to share this fun recipe. We’ll be trying it in our house soon, too. Even I can make rice crispy treats!! :)
